We love a bit of drama with a touch of humour. Not slapstick and definitely with commercial potential. Low budget but high production values, strong female leads, we are in!
We are actively seeking good manuscripts with screen potential, from new fiction writers based in Sub Saharan Africa, the Carribean or their disapora.
We enjoy working across multiple platforms and are constantly exploring new ways of reaching audiences with all the possibilities that the internet provides.
We have a thing for human interest documentaries
with a focus on stories from the Carribean, Sub Saharan Africa or their diaspora.
The Polkadot Factory develops content for screen, big, small and mobile. We relish the fact that we are producing in the digital age where there are so many possibilites.
Our development slate spans across factual and fiction, for cinema, web and mobile and we have a natural bias for stories that come from the Female / Afro Carriben perspective simply because there are not many out there. And no we are not discriminating, we are simply finding our niche! No point in setting up a brand new company to do the same thing that everyone else is doing.
